Dedicated to the hard-core enthusiast, Trailer Boats magazine is researched, written, edited and photographed to be the quintessential authority in trailerable boats, marine propulsion, accessory installations and use, maintenance and repair, tow vehicles, boat trailering, seamanship, watersports and cruising.
Since 1971, Trailer Boats has successfully built and maintained a solid base of loyal, information-hungry readers. We've accomplished this with a hands-on, tech-oriented editorial approach that consistently focuses on the nuts-and-bolts of boating and trailering.

Jim Hendricks
Jim has 30 years of experience owning, trailering and skippering boats. He is an award-winning writer, and has 20 years of magazine experience. He fishes often from his 21-foot Cabo, Split Decision.
Automotive Editor
Stuart Bourdon
Stuart has been the automotive editor at Trailer Boats and performing tow vehicle evaluations for seven years. He has been involved in the auto industry since 1985 as a photographer, writer and editor.

Senior Technical Field Editor
Jim Barron
Jim is an award-winning technical editor who has been the cornerstone of Trailer Boats since its inception in 1971. He writes the Propulsion Report and Tech Letters columns, and also contributes boat and engine tests. He is a former boat dealer with 40 years of experience in the industry and 52 years experience running boats.

Ron Eldridge
Ron has a consistent track record of winning awards -- as both a writer and editor. He has 24 years of magazine experience, and has owned, operated and trailered boats for nearly 30 years. He enjoys diving, fishing, surfing and boat camping from his 23-foot Winner walkaround, Apache.

Rich Johnson
Rich has been Trailer Boats’ Boat Improvement columnist since 2004. He has been a boater for 12 years, when he and his wife bought a 26-foot trailerable MacGregor Powersailer. Rich has been an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary since 2003, and is a qualified instructor in all of the auxiliary’s specialty courses.

Dan Armitage
Dan is an award-winning outdoor writer who writes travel and feature stories for Trailer Boats. He has 25 years of experience as a boating writer, and is a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain. His radio program Buckeye Sportsman with Dan Armitage is broadcast weekly throughout Ohio.

Lee Boyt
Lee is a 20-year marine industry veteran with seven years of media experience. He started his career at OMC’s Racing Center, testing propellers on both pleasure and performance craft, before moving on to Mercury. Lee currently owns a 19-foot Steury bowrider that’s been remodeled to serve as a fishing boat with lots of cockpit space.

John Cacciutti
John is Trailer Boats’ personal watercraft field editor and columnist, and has written for the magazine for more than 12 years. John has tested and reviewed every PWC since the first three-passenger and high-performance models were introduced in the early 1990s. He has almost 20 years’ experience as a licensed captain, and is an active member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America. John attends annual PWC press introductions and model shoot-outs, and he and his family are avid watercraft enthusiasts.

Frank Sargeant
Frank is the author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Boating and Sailing, plus 11 other boating and fishing books. He has 30 years of experience testing and writing about boats, and has won more than 60 national awards, including NMMA Boating Writer of the Year in 1992.
